Prof. Richard Kofi Asiedu

Prof. Richard Kofi Asiedu is the Chief Executive Officer of St. Andrews group of companies. The St. Andrews group of schools include; St. Andrews Senior High School at Assin Foso and the branches in Mankessim, Dunkwa-On-Offin, Sefwi Asawinso, New Edubiase and Bonsu Nkwanta. Other schools are St. Andrews College of Healthcare (Gerontology Nursing School), Mount Hebron University College of Health and Allied Sciences (it specializes in programs in only health and allied sciences and it programs include; Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc. Physician Assistant), Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc. Nursing), Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc. Public Health), the other programs are Registered Diploma in General Nursing, Registered Diploma in Midwifery and Diploma in Physician Assistant.

St. Andrews Group of Schools has a radio broadcasting school which is christened Rich Multimedia Training School that offers Diploma in Radio and Television Broadcasting. A remedial school that helps prepare students for re-sit for the West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) is also part of the group of schools, it name is Ultimate Remedial School.

The St. Andrews group of schools has also other affiliate companies, they include Rich Fm 98.7 megahertz which is located at Assin Foso, Nakata Travel and Tours at Cape Coast and Stream Beverages, producers of Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Beverages and Natural Mineral Water.

The school began with 25 students at Assin Foso in the Central Region of Ghana behind the old Fire Service Station and with 4 masters. The school today can boast of thousands of students at both secondary and the tertiary levels. The school’s beautiful edifice talks volumes about itself. The senior high school department began with just two programs, thus General Arts and Business, however, as of today new programs have been added including General Science, Agricultural Science, Visual Arts, Home Economics, and Technical.

The Senior High school has accreditation from the West African Examination Council (WAEC) and Ghana Education Service (GES) for all it campuses. The campus of Assin Foso also serves as an examination center for both May/June WASSCE and Nov/Dec WASSCE.

The St. Andrews College of Healthcare has an accreditation from the National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) to offer Healthcare Certificate I & II programs for 2 years.

The Mount Hebron University College is at the final stage of the accreditation process by the National Accreditation Board (NAB), it has also obtained Affiliation with the university of Cape Coast after receiving clearance from the Nurses and Midwifery Council (NMC Ghana).

The University is also working closely with the Medical and Dental Council to supervise and mentor it Physician Assistant program.

Prof. Richard Kofi Asiedu hails from Agona Kwanyako in the Central Region of Ghana, he was born on the 25th January, 1974. He -began his educational career at Agona Kwanyako Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Primary School at which he completed in 1987. He gained admission to Swedru Secondary School (SWESCO) where he read his GCE Ordinary level in Business Studies, he advanced to Nkroful Agricultural Secondary School (NASS) where he also read Business/Arts program. He did his first National Service at Kwanyako Methodist Junior High School (JSS) where he took the advantage to do part time teaching at Kwanyako Secondary School between 1995/1996. After the National Service, he got an appointment with Ghana Education Service to teach as a pupil teacher at Mensakwaa D/C JSS for a year. In the year 1997, he gained admission to Takoradi Polytechnic to read a 3 year Higher National Diploma in purchasing and supply management. He did his Second National Service after completion of Sobroso M/A JSS at Sobroso in the Upper Denkyira East District with it Capital Dunkwa-On-Offin. After the National Service Prof. Richard Kofi Asiedu started working with the National Youth Authority, under the Ministry of Youth and Sports as a Municipal Co-coordinator at Assin North Municipality of the Central Region with it capital Assin Foso, he is currently the acting Western Regional Director after attaining Director Status in the public sector realm. Prof. Richard Kofi Asiedu is therefore a senior public servant after moving from Deputy Director to a full Director in the public service realm.

Prof. Richard Kofi Asiedu later got admission in Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) to read a Bachelor of Science (BSc. Human Resource Management) program and topped it up with a Master of Arts Degree in Humana Resource Development (MA) from University of Cape Coast.

In the year 2012, he crowned it with a Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) in Human Resource Management at Atlantic International University at Hawaii, Untied State of America (USA) after studying for 3 years, thus between 2009 – 2012.

Prof. Richard Kofi Asiedu has conducted a lot of research in the area of finance and economics and has travelled extensively both local and abroad for seminars and workshops. Among the countries he has visited are, USA, Britain, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Turkey, Egypt, China, Ethiopia, Kenya, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ivory Coast and Togo.

Between 2014 to 2017 Dr. Richard Kofi Asiedu was the council Chairman for Foso College of Education (FOSCO) a Diploma Awarding Tertiary Institution in the Central Region (Government Institution), he also served as the Board Secretary for the Assinman Health Insurance Scheme Board between 2003 – 2007.

Currently, he is a Board member of Kwanyako Senior High School and Chancellor of Mount Hebron University College.

He is married to Dr. Mrs. Regina Asiedu who works with the Ghana Immigration Service and they are blessed with 4 children.
